Eastern Africa Power Pool Regional Trade Conference 2024

Bringing together close to 400 participants—including ministers from eight African countries, senior utility officials, regulators, and international experts—the Eastern Africa Power Pool (EAPP) Regional Trade Conference 2024 marked a pivotal moment in advancing regional electricity market integration across Eastern Africa.

Organized in partnership with the World Bank and the Government of Kenya, the conference set the stage for the anticipated 2025 launch of EAPP’s day-ahead market. Sessions focused on global best practices, regulatory coordination, and the technical foundations required for effective cross-border power trade—supporting EAPP’s vision of a more connected, efficient, and resilient energy future for the region.
